CEM REPORT | The Lagos State Inland Revenue Service (LIRS) has said all previously used bill references would be discontinued from the month of August.
The service in a statement said it is part of its effort to digitalize its operations and make tax payment seamless in the State.
Executive Chairman, LIRS, Ayodele Subair, stated that by the due date of August 1, 2022, only the Enterprise Tax Solutions (eTax) would become the only authorized channel to generate bill references for tax payments and other tax-related transactions in Lagos State.
The statement further explains that the eTax platform is easy to learn and can be done successfully by visiting https://etax.lirs.net.
The LIRS in October of 2019 introduced the eTax platform for a seamless tax payment and reduce compliance costs to taxpayers.
The scheme was built as a one-stop shop for all tax transactions and since its launch, eTax has improved the effectiveness of tax administration in Lagos State, according to the tax collecting organisation.
