Weppa, Wanno and Uzanu are predominantly agrarian communities situated at the Northern part of Edo State. Being bounded by the River Niger, they have a common boundary with Kogi State. The communities are majorly known for crops such as cassava, groundnut, tomato, corn, yam and melon. The Agenebode market is usually a hub during harvest time for these crops with merchants coming from other parts of the state and Kogi state to buy in bulk. Void of exaggeration, it is right to say that the communities are combined major food supplier in Edo State.
It is noteworthy that the farmers in these communities like other parts of Nigeria struggle with constraints which hamper their full capacity in output. They are in terms of modern techniques and processes and marketing skills. These constraints truly need attention
Rising to this need, the Weppa Wanno Pyramid Club of Nigeria nobbling decided to hold a capacity training for the farmers in the Weppa, Wanno and Uzanu communities.
Weppa Wanno Pyramid Club of Nigeria is widely recognized in Edo State and among Weppa, Wanno and Uzanu people for their propensity and commitment to community development often undertaken on a high standard. In line with this, the club sourced facilitators from notable government agencies which are Edo State Skill Development Agency (Edojobs) and Edo State Ministry of Business Trade and Cooperatives

The training that held on March 13 and 14 2025 at the Club house in Agenebode was titled “Building Sustainable Agriculture Enterprises: From Farming to Formalization. It was designed to equip the local farmers with essential knowledge and practical skills to enhance productivity, reduce post harvest losses and transition towards formalized business structure. This theme was scaled down to two topics which are …….. and Formalizing Business and Business Cooperatives.

The retirement ceremony of Lady Bridget Nwakego Uzowulu brings to mind the fulfilment that comes with following your passion and being proud of your profession. For Lady Bridget Uzowulu, while she celebrate her 35 years of service in the Lagos Ministry of Education, her colleagues both in active service and retired celebrate her dedication to work.
The hall in Millennium Grammar School Egbeda was filled to capacity by friends, family members, co-parishoners, co-teachers and staff of the Lagos Ministry of Education on Monday 24th March 2024 to usher Lady Bridget Uzowulu into the senior citizen status having served the state education sector for 35 years and having attained 60years of age.
The ceremony started with the grand entry into the hall accompanied by the teachers of the school. The principal of the school in his welcome remarks commended Lady Uzowulu for her positive attitude to work at all times.
Students of the school took turn to entertain guest with their fascinating performances, after which the PENDOWN, special prayer and cutting of retirement cake took place. The high point of the event was the welcoming to the senior citizen forum.
The warm and adorable character of Lady Bridget Nwakego Uzowulu were prominent in all the interviews granted CEM crew by guests.
In an interview with CEM, Lady Bridget Uzowulu expressed gratitude to God for a successful retirement ceremony. She specifically appreciated her husband, Sir, Emeka Uzowulu KSJI for being an unwavering support throughout her career.

The Easter season was seized as an opportunity to unite again after 26 years of graduation. Though this group has been meeting via online medium, Class 1999 from the department of Business Administration, Auchi Polytechnic organized a reunion on the 18 and 19 of April 2025 at Limoh Hotel, Benin City.

President of the Alumni Association Nosa Ogbeifu while speaking with CEM on Friday evening, the first day of the event summarized the purpose of the reunion as coming together to discuss strategies to lift each other, get professional knowledge on life endeavors in the midst of merriment after many years of dispersal upon graduation 26 years ago.

There was no dull moment neither was there a gloomy countenance as the event was loaded with activities which include lectures, networking, general meeting and gala nite. The atmosphere was consuming with these activities being accompanied by befitting meals, jokes and gist about the days at school.
