Naira depreciates against the dollar

The Nigeria Naira, today depreciated against the US dollar at both the official market and the parallel market.

Naira exchanged for ₦1,548.5 against the dollar at the official market after loosing ₦1.1601 (0.07%) when compared to the ₦1,549.6 it exchanged last week

Dollar rate started the month of June at ₦1,581.5866 traded on Monday, June 02, 2025. With USD rate set at ₦1,548.5237 as at today, the local currency has fallen by 2.09% to the Dollar officially for this month of June.

Against the pound, naira appreciated to ₦2082.7644 to one pound, this is a 0.89% weekly increase from ₦2,101.4642 as set by the Central Bank.

At the parallel market, naira exchanged at 1,600 per dollar from sellers who were only willing to buy at 1,590 per dollar.
