CEM REPORT, FINANCE | “Those that know Funmi Olaniyi, am an achiever, I like to set my eyes on the goal and I don’t take my eyes off except I achieve my goals”; Olufunmilayo Olaniyi, Chairman Elect of ICAN Lekki District said recently.
Olufunmilayo Olaniyi spoke with CEM Television recently at the ICAN Fellowship award held at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.
She underscored the importance of team work to achieve set goals while counting on the cooperation of the members of the Exco. She said; “when you pull one person and you pull the other, we all make a group and we all succeed together. So we are going to unite in excellence to achieve all of the set goals.”
Out of the many goals of the District, Mrs Olaniyi spoke about expansion of CSR and mentorship grooming of young accountants.
We need to expand even in the CSR we do in the District because everyone need a shoulder to lie on. We need to coach, we need to mentor, we need to bring up young accountants. That is one of the great stride we are going pull within the Lekki and District Society”, Mrs Olaniyi said
She commended her predecessors especially the outgoing, Gbenga Oyewole for achieving much through his humane character and positive attitude which enabled him to bring the District together to record the growth the District has witnessed in the past one year.

“Gbenga Oyewole is a silent achiever. The ambience he brings into the room is that of friendship and he leads by example. That is the same attitude we will sustain”; She said
The 2nd anniversary of the Lekki and District Society and the Investiture of the 3rd Chairman will hold on Saturday, 8 of June 2024 at the Lekki at THE LEKKI COLISEUM (TLC) Plot 14, Providence Street Off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1 Lekki, Lagos. Time for the ceremony is 10am.
