Distinguished personalities celebrate an accomplished tax expert at a memorable ceremony in Lagos.

It was an evening of glamour, warmth and celebration on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as distinguished personalities gathered at the Multipurpose Hall, Tower B, Kuramo Beach Residence, Victoria Island, Lagos, to honour Victor Dakpokpo, FCA, with the prestigious   CEM Ambassador Award.

With the cool ocean breeze setting the mood, the event celebrated a distinguished professional whose career spans over 22 years in taxation, accounting, financial reporting, business consulting and leadership. Victor is currently the Deputy General Manager, Tax Administration & Advisory at TotalEnergies Upstream Companies in Nigeria. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and has contributed to tax policy reforms, international financial management and community development.

Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion were *Ken Opara, Ph.D., past President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria; Mike Otu, Ph.D., Company Secretary, Zenith Bank; Enakhe Idodo, Chairman, UBA Pharmacy; Alhaji Abu Agbonoga, FCA, Chairman, CEM Board of Directors; MSHC Kennedy Izuagbe, Vice Chairman, CEM Board of Directors; and Patrick Akamiokhor, FCA, immediate past Chairman of the ICAN Lekki and District Society and immediate past Chairman of the CEM Board of Directors.*

Also in attendance were Barr. Agbeboa, Major Imuede (rtd.) of the Nigerian Army, and Hussein Azebeokha of Usagbe Club of Nigeria. Victor’s beautiful wife, Iyesomi, and members of her family were equally present to felicitate with him on the well-deserved recognition.

The celebration featured glowing testimonials from his workplace, community, clubs and friends, highlighting his professionalism, leadership, character and positive impact on those around him.

The CEM Ambassador Award recognises individuals who exemplify excellence in their professions, demonstrate leadership in their communities and contribute meaningfully to economic and societal development. Victor joins Barr. Mike Otu of Zenith Bank and SRHC Omonomoh I of the oil and gas industry as the third recipient of this distinguished award category.
