CEM REPORT, ELECTION | The situation on this historical day of the 2023 general election has been peaceful so far at the time of filling this report, having visited a couple of polling units in Alimosho Local Government in Lagos State.
While the atmosphere is void of violence for now, there are issues in the use of  the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS)
In a polling unit in Gowon Estate, voters had to share network through phone hotspot before the BVAS began to Function. Some polling units waited some hours while trying to fix the BVAS network challenge which delayed commencement of voting.
Some of the most anticipated irregularities such as vote buying and thuggery were practically absent in the polling units visited as at the time of this report.
The 2023 general election is acclaimed as the most keenly contested and very difficult to predict it’s outcome. One thing is sure that Nigeria will decide today on who will lead the nation in the next 4 years.
