While speaking with Continental Economy Magazine, Mr. Okunade expressed his excitement over his investiture as the 35th Chairman of the District having served the District for over seven years in the Executive Committee.

“I feel very excited and elated about today on my investiture as the Chairman of the District. This is a journey I started since 2015 when I became an executive member of this District. I have been giving by services to the institute at the national level, zonal level and the district level which has climaxed at the Ikeja District and Society as the 35th Chairman of the District”

Mr. Okunade plans to leverage his IT expertize in advancing the affairs of the District while focusing on the youth to catch them young.

“My bedrock lies in information technology. Am IT Expert, and I celebrate that. COVID-19 have exposed a lot in this line, all we need to do is to improve on technology. I will be lashing on that by creating easy way to do things in the Institute.

“Am sure you have learnt in the last few weeks how e-payment has actually risen. We will introduce easy ways for members to do subscription, increase interaction by engaging them more on social media.

“The major driver of my Chairmanship is the youth. As part of focal point of my agenda, we are going to encourage our young ones through the secondary and tertiary institutions by moving close to them and making them know the importance of accounting.

“Most people don’t believe am an accountant following my successes in other areas such as the IT. The spirit of an accountant has given me room for diversification. Will we go to the nukes and crannies of Ikeja and with IT, we will be able to connect with people from other states to participate in the program. With this awareness, more people will come into the profession and the economy will be better for it”; Mr. Okunade.
