CEM REPORT, HOSPITALITY | Edo State government has forged an agreement with Radisson Hotel Group, a partnership that will generate a minimum of 200 employment opportunities and bring forth a remarkable hotel project valued at ₦19.6 billion.
This landmark partnership will materialize into an exquisite hotel encompassing a range of Scandinavian-inspired accommodations, catering to discerning travellers seeking modern standard rooms, expansive executive suites, and the epitome of luxury in the lavish presidential suite.
Osarodion Ogie, Secretary to the Edo State Government, and Erwan Garnier, Senior Director Development Africa Radisson Hotel Group, affixed their signatures to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective entities.
Governor Godwin Obaseki, addressing the signing ceremony, emphasized that the Edo Radisson Hotel project embodies the state’s unwavering dedication to fostering economic growth and transforming the region’s landscape.
“The hospitality and tourism sectors have long been recognized as powerful catalysts for economic prosperity, creating opportunities for employment, investment and sociocultural exchange.
“By embarking on this ambitious venture, we are signalling our firm belief in the potential of our state as a vibrant and thriving destination,” he added.
Upon completion, the new Radisson Hotel in Benin will boast 169 rooms, a lobby bar and café, an all-day dining restaurant, and a pool bar and grill. Scheduled for opening within the next 12 months, the hotel will mark the Radisson Group’s 12th establishment in Nigeria.
“Creating a social hub for delectable cuisine, the hotel’s gastronomic offering will include a lobby bar and cafe, an all-day dining restaurant as well as a pool bar and grill.
“To provide a harmonious stay, guests can also unwind in the hotel’s gym and spa.
“With our ongoing commitment to expand in Nigeria a key market in Africa for our scaled growth and sub-Saharan Africa’s largest economy, the debut in Benin, a key state capital, is perfectly aligned with our growth strategy for the country.
