The Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN Lagos Mainland and District Society, LMDS, Ini James Esau, FCA has emphasized the doctrine of unity in his district void of tribalism, gender and religious sentiment.
Ini Esaumade this declaration while speaking with Continental Economy Magazine and CEM Television at the end of his investiture as the 30th Chairman of the ICAN Lagos Mainland and District Society.
Responding to the question about his planned strategy to work closely with his executive, INI Esau said;
In Lagos Mainland, for the past 5 years, we have made up our minds that nothing can separate us. Executive is a continuous process; while some are passing out, others are coming in. As you come, we indoctrinate you with the doctrine of unity.
There is nothing like tribalism in Lagos Mainland District. No matter the tribe you come from, when you do well, you will continue with what you are doing, except you do not do well that is when we will push out. There is nothing like tribalism, there is nothing like gender (sentiment), there is nothing like religious (sentiment)
The investiture ceremony was well attended by the Executive Council of ICAN led by the ICAN President, DCS Alaribe, FCA, top personalities in the accounting profession, captains of industry, family members and friends.

Mr Ini James Esau, FCA, took over from Mr Safiu Ahmad, FCA, as the Chairman of Lagos Mainland and District Society on the 22nd of June 2024 at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja
The Akwa Ibom State born Ini Esaul qualified as Chartered Accountant in November, 2007 and was admitted as an Associate member of ICAN in May, 2008. He obtained his B.Sc in Accounting with grade of second class upper in 2005 from Olabisi Onabanjo University and Masters of Business Administration from University of Lagos in 2010.
Mr Esau is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN, a certified International Financial Reporting Standard and Certified Fraud Examiner, (CFE). He also a member and currently the Registrar/CEO of Compliance Institute of Nigeria
In appreciation mood, the brand new Chairman of LMDS, Ini James Esau gave a run down of the objectives of his administration, while he expressed gratitude to God and everyone for strength, encouragement and support. He promised to continue from where his predecessor stopped with regards to projects and programs of the district.
The projects and programs include the district’s building project, workshop and members’ capacity building. Others are delegation to Annual Accountants’ Conference and Presidential visit.
He also promised to continue with the catch-them-young, charity and other noble programs of the district.
