CEM RELEASE| Like the popular song goes “celebrate me when I dey alive”, the Ijaw Professionals Association (IPA) is celebrating Pa Edwin Clark as he crosses into his 97th year on earth.
In a statement, the Ijaw Professionals Association epitomised the life of the elder statesman as a “testament to unwavering dedication, resilience, and an indomitable spirit of service to the Ijaw people and Nigeria at large.”
The statement signed by IPA President, Pattison Boleigha, noted that the achievements and dedication of Pa Edwin Clark will continue to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations of Ijaws.

“The Ijaw Professionals Association (IPA) is profoundly honored to celebrate the 97th birthday of an illustrious son of Ijawland and a venerable father to all Ijaws in Nigeria and in fact the entire Niger Delta people, Chief Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON. As we commemorate this significant milestone, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Chief Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, whose life has been a testament to unwavering dedication, resilience, and an indomitable spirit of service to the Ijaw people and Nigeria at large.
“Pa Edwin Clark, born on 25th May 1927, has epitomized the very essence of leadership and commitment to the upliftment of the Ijaw nation. His contributions to the socio-political and economic advancement of the Ijaw people and his relentless advocacy for justice, equity, and good governance are unparalleled. As a statesman, lawyer, and nationalist, Chief Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark has left an indelible mark on the fabric of Nigeria’s history.
“Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark has consistently championed the cause of the Ijaw people, advocating for their rights, development, and inclusion in the national discourse. His efforts in the struggle for resource control and the betterment of the Niger Delta region have garnered respect and admiration both within and beyond our borders. “As an elder statesman, Chief Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark has played pivotal roles in various capacities, including serving as a Commissioner for Education in the old Mid-Western Region, Federal Commissioner for Information, and as a senator in the Nigerian National Assembly.
