CEM REPORT, CREATIVE | The movie industry; domestic and international, has become a gold mine following the figures it is recording at the box office locally and internationally.
Orisa, a movie directed and produced by Odunlade Adekola in collaboration with Filmone Studios has hit ₦27.6 million in just five days of its release.
The movie which premiered in Ibadan on the 21 of July has now become the highest-grossing nollywood opening of 2023 according to a post by Adekola on his Instagram page.
Adekola has since taken to his handles to thank fans who defiled the rain to see the movie.
Meanwhile, Ijakumo a movie produced by Toyin Abraham in 2022 has shot the actor to the top of the highest-grossing female actor raking in ₦611 million in a list compiled by filmone. A contribution to her earnings is her role in King of Thieves.
In the international scene, Tom Cruise’s latest release of the sequel “mission impossible” has earned $370,707,980 worldwide since its release on 12 July in the United States.
The new release titled Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One pulled in $54,688,347 in its opening week in the United States and gross earnings of $118,607,980.
