CEM REPORT, GOVERNANCE | The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the procurement of software for the National Population Commission (NPC), N2.8 billion.
This is as it moved the scheduled from March 29 census to an unscheduled date in May.
According to the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the 2023 population and housing census was rescheduled because of the change in the date of the governorship elections from March 11 to March 18.
The census was initially targeted for 2021 but was postponed on the grounds of widespread insecurity, especially in the north.
The census if held in May will be coming after more than 16 years since the last one was held.
